Cardiac activity is assessed using two types of devices – stationary and portable.

The six-channel electrocardiograph “Altonik-06” is located in room 116 (medical station). The device records electrical signals of the heart simultaneously from several leads, which speeds up diagnosis and increases its accuracy. The procedure takes a few minutes and causes no discomfort.

The diagnostic complex “Cardian” is used by the general practitioner directly during the consultation. This compact device meets international standards and is considered one of the best in its class. With its help, the doctor can:

• quickly assess heart function immediately after the guest’s arrival;

• perform routine monitoring on any day of stay (if indicated);

• obtain instant data without referring the patient to another room.

Thanks to “Cardian”, the doctor promptly detects deviations and, if necessary, changes the prescribed procedures.

Pulse Oximetry: A Bloodless Way to Assess Oxygen Saturation

Pulse oximetry measures the oxygen saturation of blood (SpO₂) and pulse rate without punctures. The sensor is attached to a finger, and within a few seconds the numbers appear on the screen. For a healthy adult, the normal values are 95–98%. A decrease in this indicator may indicate problems with the lungs, heart, or anaemia.

The procedure is completely safe, requires no preparation and takes only a minute. At the sanatorium, it is prescribed to monitor the effectiveness of treatment for bronchopulmonary and cardiovascular diseases, as well as for preventive purposes.

Glucometry: Rapid Blood Sugar Control

When prescribed by a doctor, an invasive blood glucose test is performed. A portable glucometer is used – a drop of capillary blood is placed on a test strip, and the result is ready within a few seconds. This is necessary for:

• detecting diabetes mellitus and prediabetic conditions;

• monitoring patients with an already established diagnosis;

• evaluating the effectiveness of diet and treatment.

Please check with your general practitioner whether you need to take the test on an empty stomach and at what time of day it is best to do it.
